As part of our efforts to reach a broader audience, the Fewell lab is open to working with teachers, students, and members of the public to promote understanding and appreciation for insects and insect research.

In the past, we have presented live colonies to children and parents at bookstore events and science festivals, and offered lab tours to high school and elementary school students, as well as members of the Boy Scouts.

In addition, we have collaborated with Arizona State University’s Ask-A-Biologist program to create ant-themed educational tools for teachers, parents, and students.

We continually seek new opportunities to present ants and other fascinating insects to the public; if you are an educator or organization interested in presentations of live ant colonies, do not hesitate to contact Dr. Fewell at j.fewell@asu.edu. We look forward to hearing from you!
